School Hours

School opens at 9.00am – Registration starts at 9.00am and closes at 9.15am. Children arriving after this time will be marked late – this counts as an absence. The school day finishes at 3.15pm.

These hours total 31 and a quarter per week.

Time Out of School During Term Time

IMPORTANT

The Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 – states ‘that Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances’.

Permission should be sought in writing from the headteacher at least 2 weeks in advance of the absence. Any absence that has not been agreed with the Headteacher will be recorded as unauthorised and will lead to a penalty notice being served by the local authority. You will need permission from the Headteacher to take your child/ren out of school for any reason.

Holidays cannot be taken during term time.

Attendance Target

The governors have set an attendance target of 92% - help us to achieve this by sending your child to school every day.

Article 28

‘Children have the right to go to school '.

 UNICEF

If your child misses 1 day each week they are losing 20% of their education.

If your child is absent from school you must tell us, giving the reason why. If your child is reported as being ill regularly we will ask for evidence of your child’s health or arrange for a medical with Dr Nitin Panwar (Community Paediatrician) to look at ways of supporting you and your child.
