Headteachers Welcome

Dear Parents/Carers

As the Headteacher of Camberwell Park I can honestly say it is a privilege to be in the job of leading such a fantastic and very impressive school. We are a specialist support school for 178 amazing children all with their own individual personalities. The children at Camberwell Park all have an EHCP and have different needs including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Severe Learning difficulties and /or Autism. The children are supported by a dedicated  team of 117 staff who support each individual child to ensure our school vision of being "the best we can be" and that the very best is acheived by and for every individual child. We have a fantastic purpose build school environment spread over two buildings, our Sycamore and Oak buildings. We have a Hydro Therapy pool , two Food Tech rooms , an Art room , Soft Play Room , 4D room, two libraries and access to extensive Outdoor play equipment and areas, including undercover outdoor areas. Our school values are "PROUD" and all staff and children work to our values everyday. We are Passionate, Respectful , Organised, Understanding and Dedicated in all we do. Camberwell Park continues to build strong links with its community and we know that getting the best for our children involves working closely with our families.  From my experience of being a Head of School at both a Primary Special School and a Secondary Special School and having worked in Special Education for 23 years, I know that a successful and happy school depends on all of us working together. By working together we can ensure that all pupils enjoy their time at school, make excellent progress and leave us with the necessary skills as they approach their time at secondary school. Our children start school in Reception as "Caterpillars" and move up through the school as "Butterflies" as they emerge in confidence, independence and grow their wings to fly!  We are PROUD of our school, PROUD of our children and PROUD of the support that our families give us and the close links we have with families and the community. We are also PROUD of the Outreach support we give to staff and children in North Manchester mainstream schools.

I hope you find the website informative but please do contact us if you have any questions or enquires and we are always happy to help.

Thank you

Mrs Joanna Macdonald
